BIOGRAPHY
Roberto was born and raised in Puebla, Mexico until the age of 17, when his family moved to San Diego,
California. There he attained his high school diploma and later moved to Los Angeles to pursue a higher
education. In 2004, while working and going to school full-time, Roberto completed his undergraduate
studies in Finance and International Business at Cal State Long Beach.
His career as a Financial Advisor began shortly thereafter while working for American Express Financial
Advisors, currently known as Ameriprise Financial. While he appreciated the experience he acquired
while working at a large financial firm, he strived to have investment freedom and flexibility. His focus
has always been comprehensive financial planning and investment solutions.
In 2010, he co-founded Oxford-Guzman Financial, an independent financial firm. After working in
partnership for nearly ten years, it was time for Roberto and his business partner to go their separate
ways in pursuit of their own individual, personal and business goals.
In 2020, Roberto rebranded under the name New Growth Financial where he continues to create
custom financial plans for his clients, as well as implementing investment strategies that are in
alignment with their goals. Roberto's area of expertise includes: portfolio construction, annuities,
private equity programs, life, disability and long term care insurance, alternative investments (REITs and
BDCs), and retirement programs.
PERSONAL LIFE
Roberto has been married to the love of his life for 19 years, sharing a life filled with adventure and
cherished moments. He is an avid outdoorsman who thrives on exploring nature's wonders. When not
enjoying quality time with his family, you can find him hiking, trail running, or embracing thrilling
adventures. A testament to his adventurous spirit, he has trekked to Everest Base Camp and summited
Mt. Kilimanjaro, two remarkable feats showcasing his passion for the great outdoors.
